Position Overview

The General Sales Manager is responsible to ensure the profitability of the dealership through planning, organizing, controlling and measuring the performance of the Sales, F&I, and BDC departments (Variable Sales).

The GSM will set objectives for the departments and accomplish through vehicle sales, appointments, conversions, follow-ups, reviews, and other key performance indicators. The GSM is responsible for leading the team with a professional management style that promotes enthusiasm, productivity, accountability, and superior customer service. This position will also develop and train all departments to establish and achieve company goals. The GSM will operate with the highest level of integrity in every situation as well as represent Auto Boutique core values of customer service, veracity and transparency. A proven track record as an automotive General Sales Manager, New/Used Car Manager or a Finance Director is a must.

Responsibilities and Qualifications:

  • Proven track record in automotive retail industry as an automotive General Sales Manager, New Car Manager, Finance Director, and Used Car Manager
  • Establish the dealership’s short, medium, and long-term objectives that align with the overall business vision.
  • Develops and implements dealership operations plans to achieve monthly and annual forecasts.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with cross functional teams, partners and vendors
  • Analyze the business to determine and develop action plans to improve performance
  • Communicate all pertinent material and information to dealership principle/owner
  • Collaborate with Dealership Principle, GM, Owner, and Managers to implement dealership sales processes
  • Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state and local regulations that affect vehicle sales
  • Monitor all variable sales departments payroll records
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, and the ability to understand profit and loss statements are requirements for success
  • A proven track record in the automotive market reflecting high CSI is a must
  • Responsible for making sure CIT list is resolved before deadlines
  • Leads senior management team in setting strategy for the store and provides vision, direction, and motivation to team
  • Read, interpret, and transcribe data in order to maintain accurate records
  • Make independent judgments regarding critical business decisions
  • Must be a highly detailed process driven leader and be able to hold the staff accountable for results
  • Identify business opportunities and suggest improvements
  • Develop and maintain a good working relationship with lending institutions and manufacturer personnel
  • Attract, develop and retain the very best talent for the store
  • Interviews, hires, trains and promotes associates to support store operations and company growth
  • Ensures positive associate engagement and associate development through timely and effective feedback, to include individual meetings, department meetings, performance management, and the Annual Performance Review process
  • Meets with managers individually to develop monthly, annual goals and objectives, as well as review actual performances and motivate and reward associates.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
